The Truman Show scribe Andrew Niccol has been tapped to direct Inferno Entertainment's big-screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's non-Twilight drama The Host, it was announced Thursday.

Hanna star Saoirse Ronan locked in the leading role for the film, which began sales talks this week at the Cannes Film Festival.

"Having Andrew at the helm for us is incredibly invigorating as he truly shares Stephenie’s vision on this film,” Inferno president of international sales Kimberly Fox said. “We literally began sales this week, and the response from the international community and from domestic buyers has been beyond our highest expectations.”

Niccol and Ronan are repped by CAA.
