Jason Momoa Swims Into Action in First 'Aquaman' Poster

James Wan's film about the DC hero opens Dec. 21.

The first poster for Aquaman has finally arrived.

The one-sheet shows Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry/Aquaman in his element (that is, underwater).  Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, with the actor reprising his role from Justice League. The film also stars Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

The hype for Aquaman is building this week ahead of Warner Bros.' Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con Saturday, where director James Wan will unveil the first trailer for his film. Wan shared the first footage from Aquaman at CinemaCon in April, and it featured one-liners such as: "I'm a blunt instrument, and I am damned good at it." But as of yet, fans have not been able to get a glimpse of it, as that footage was not made available online.

Wan previously addressed the lack of a trailer for the film, tweeting in February that he wasn't showing off anything until the visual effects were ready. "I am simply not ready yet to share," he wrote. "This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as subpar."
