Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D, Horns) is directing the project, which is already in production. Sam Raimi, the horror maestro behind the Evil Dead and Spider-Man movies, is producing with Craig Flores.
Aja wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was initially penned as a spec by Shawn and Michael Rasmussen.
Pepper, who is known for his work in such films as Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile, just wrapped on the upcoming Holocaust drama The Painted Bird, an adaptation of the novel by Jerzy Kosinski.
Pepper is repped by The Kohner Agency and Sloane Offer.
