STORY: Hasbro's 'Ouija' Movie Returns to Universal, Set for 2013 Release
The script by Juliet Snowden and White centers on a group of friends attempting to make contact with a recently deceased classmate through a Ouija board who awaken a dark and terrifying presence.
Cooke will play a girl who discovers that her dead friend had been messing around with a Ouija board and brings the game home. Smith is the dead girl's boyfriend, who may know more about her death than he lets on.
Daren Kagasoff also has joined the movie in a supporting role.
Cooke, repped by Gersh and manager Lena Roklin, starred in the British miniseries The Secret of Crickley Hall and will be making a trek to Sundance when The Signal, a thriller co-starring Brenton Thwaites, premieres there in January.
Smith is repped by Paradigm and Brian Medavoy of Medavoy Management.
