Comic-Con: Ben Affleck Talks Pressure of Directing Solo Batman Film
Ben Affleck has already stepped into Batman's cape and cowl twice before already — but soon he'll have to do it without his fellow Justice League heroes to support him.
Affleck took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday to discuss the pressure of his upcoming stand-alone Batman movie, which does not yet have a release date.
He said that directing Batman is like performing in a classic play that has had many iterations before it. The actor, who also is directing the project, called it an "inspiring" challenge.
Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed in April that the film was a go, with Affleck set to direct. Affleck's comments came during Warner Bros.' splashy presentation, which featured the directors of its upcoming slate, including David Ayer (Suicide Squad), Zack Snyder (Justice League), Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), Rick Famuyiwa (The Flash) and James Wan (Aquaman).
