Ben Affleck Says He "Loved" How 'Batman v. Superman' Turned Out
It appears Batman is not so sad after all.
During a recent interview for his latest film, The Accountant, Ben Affleck was asked what he thought of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Turns out, the 44-year-old actor is quite pleased with the final product despite memes and videos made of him looking sad while on press junkets.
"I loved it," Affleck told entertainment reporter Kevin McCarthy, in the below video. "It's the biggest hit of my career and had a lot of editorial negativity, although I think the reviews — fans went, and I got a lot of positive response. It was interesting, that movie, because it was judged not necessarily on execution so much as its tone."
The reviews for Batman v. Superman were not stellar; it holds at 27 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Still, the film opened No. 1 and grossed more than $873 million worldwide.
"Some people, people seemed to want to have a lighter tone to the movie, and I thought that was interesting because that’s subjective," said the actor. "Tone isn't like a qualitative thing, it’s subjective, right? Some tones resonate with me and might not with you. And the tone of the movie was really parallel to the Frank Miller book, which I liked and thought was great. I’m glad that so many people went and so many people liked the movie and it worked out."
