'Bright' Producers Ink First-Look Deal With Netflix

Bright producers Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless have inked a multiyear first-look deal with Netflix via their newly formed Screen Arcade shingle.
Under the deal, the streamer will get a first look at any feature film that Newman or Unkeless want to produce. A sequel to Bright is already in the works, with Will Smith, Joel Edgerton and director Davis Ayer all expected to return.

Outside of their recent work on Netflix's first major tentpole, Newman serves as a showrunner and executive producer on the streamer's drama series Narcos, while Unkeless is one of the producer's behind awards contender I, Tonya.
Scott Morgan, who worked with Unkless on I, Tonya, has been named the exec vp of Screen Arcade.
Newman and Unkeless are the latest feature filmmakers to put down roots at Netflix. Planet of the Apes' Matt Reeves and Transformers producer Ian Bryce also have multiyear first-look deals with the streamer.
