Chadwick Boseman on Snubs: "I'd Rather Have an Action Figure Than a Golden Globe"
Chadwick Boseman is OK with having been largely absent from this season's awards conversation.
The 38-year-old actor, who starred in 2014's James Brown biopic Get on Up, told the Santa Barbara Independent that he's not letting his lack of an Oscar or Golden Globe nomination get him down.
"When it comes down to it, I’d rather have an action figure than a Golden Globe," said Boseman, also known for Draft Day and 42.
The action figure will presumably come soon enough, as Boseman has been cast to star in Marvel's forthcoming Black Panther, hitting theaters in 2017.
The lack of diversity among this year's Oscar nominees has become a major topic of discussion, as all of the nominated actors are white. This has led to the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite trending.
