Chris Pratt Exposes "Pervy" Imposter Targeting Female Fans

“If I find out who it is, I'll have their account shut down and seriously would like to punch them right in the GD mouth,” the actor wrote on Instagram, warning fans to ignore the Facebook account pretending to belong to him.

Chris Pratt may be a Guardian of the Galaxy, but he’s also ready to guard his fans after learning an imposter is targeting women on Facebook.

On Thursday, the actor took to his Instagram account to post a photograph of the “pervy” account, attempting to get fans’ phone numbers and make inappropriate advances.

“PERVY DUDE ALERT!!! (Not a joke) It’s confirmed: somebody is trying to pretend to be me on Facebook (and maybe other social media platforms) apparently hitting on a lot of different female fans, trying to get their numbers and who knows what else. I’m not joking,” Pratt wrote in the lengthy post.

Pratt also warned the predatory imposter, threatening to shut down the account. “Please know, I find this behavior reprehensible. If I find out who it is, I’ll have their account shut down and seriously would like to punch them right in the GD mouth. You hear that imposter!? Stop.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy star urged his fans to spread word of the fake account, which, he added, makes him feel “sick.” “It terrifies me to think someone could be hurt, their feelings or much worse, by this imposter/potential predator,” Pratt wrote.

After Pratt’s warning, a Facebook spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter  that the fake account has since been deleted, after violating their community standards.

“Claiming to be another person on Facebook violates our Community Standards, and we have a dedicated team that’s tasked with helping to detect and block these kinds of scams. We’ve developed several techniques to help detect and block this type of abuse," a Facebook spokesperson told THR in a statement on Friday.

"At the time someone receives a friend request, our systems are designed to check whether the recipient already has a friend with the same name, along with a variety of other factors that help us determine if an interaction is legitimate. It's an area we're continually working to improve so that we can provide a safe and secure experience on Facebook.”

You hear that imposter!? Stop. My message to any fans who are contacted by someone claiming to be Chris Pratt: Look for the BLUE “VERIFIED” CHECKMARK next to the name. If there is no checkmark by my name that person is an imposter. I’m sorry. Tell your siblings. Educate our young ones. It’s probably mostly kids who would fall for this. Makes me sick. It terrifies me to think someone could be hurt, their feelings or much worse, by this imposter/potential predator. I’ve had many, many people tell me about this. It’s not an isolated incident. If anyone is in contact with this person block them immediately. If it’s you doing it, I’m warning you. Stop right now or you will@be very unhappy with the outcome. Go find Jesus.praying for you.
