Quentin Tarantino's high anticipated film hit theaters on Christmas Day.

Christoph Waltz is armed and dangerous in the British poster for Quentin Tarantino's highly anticipated Django Unchained.

The Oscar-winning actors stars along with Jamie Foxx -- who plays a freed slave searching for his wife -- and Leonardo DiCaprio as an evil slave owner in the Inglourious Basterds director's new spaghetti Western film. The movie also stars Jonah Hill, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington.

Sneak-peek footages of Tarantino's film's first appeared at this year's Comic-Con in July with cast members sharing stories about the movie. Among the panel included Waltz, who plays Dr. King Schultz, a dentist-turned-bounty hunter. The Austrian actor explained that he had to learn a good amount about America's history to prepare for his role as a German character.

"We learn history in Europe and part of the history of the world is American history, but really the intricacies and details, I wasn't so familiar with," he told THR. "The implications for today's America and today's culture in this country and the surprisingly acute relevance to today's mentality, that's something that I really thought was one of the major perks of this job."

The Academy Award-winning director will keep fans on the edges of their seats during the movie as Waltz explained to THR, “It’s the surprise element, but not just for the surprise’s sake, but because Quentin finds what makes true drama -- he turns situations very often into their opposites."

Django Unchained is set for domestic release on Dec. 25.
