The Merc with the Mouth has spoken.

Ryan Reynolds says he would like to see Wolverine and Deadpool appear in a movie together but that it will not be the upcoming wolverine film Logan.

"I want a Deadpool/Wolvie film. But Logan is its own unique & perfect thing. The Big Red Shit-Talker wouldn't mix with the tone," Reynolds tweeted Thursday in response to a question from The Hollywood Reporter staff editor Ryan Parker.

The response comes a day after The Wrap reported Reynolds had shot a scene as Deadpool for Logan, prompting denials on Twitter from Reynolds, director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman.

Reynolds also had the internet buzzing about a different project on Thursday when he shared a photo of Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka, fueling speculation he was hinting that he was involved in the upcoming Warner Bros. reboot. (This is the project Parker was actually asking Reynolds about when the actor gave the Logan response.)

Logan is being billed as Jackman's final outing as the popular X-Men character — and judging from the trailer, it has a gritty tone that doesn't seem like it would mix well with the zaniness of Deadpool. To date, Deadpool is the only X-Men film not to have featured Jackman's Wolverine (though Jackman's likeness did appear via his cover of People's sexiest man alive issue).

Logan hits theaters March 3.
