The creators of The Death of Stalin — the graphic novel that inspired Armando Iannucci’s movie of the same name — aren’t finished with the political history of Russia just yet. Next month will see the release of Death to the Tsar, their retelling of the political turbulence of 1904, and Heat Vision has the exclusive reveal of the trailer for the project.

Written by Fabien Nury and art by Theirry Robin, Death to the Tsar unfolds as events across the country come to a boiling point in Moscow, as citizens — starving and impoverished — protest for better living conditions, leading to a tragic decision by Governor Sergei Alexandrovitch … but did he actually give the decision everyone believed he did?

Nury and Robin’s The Death of Stalin was adapted by Veep creator Iannucci for the big screen last year, gaining significant critical acclaim. Not everyone was a fan, however; this week, the movie was effectively banned in Russia when the country’s culture ministry withdrew its exhibition license.

The new 112-page graphic novel, published by Titan Comics’ international comics imprint Statix Press, will be released Feb. 20. Watch a trailer, and read a six-page preview, below.
