Quick: How many supervillains show up in the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2? If you answered "three," then you're only kind of right.

Yes, the trailer features appearances from Electro, the Green Goblin (or, more correctly, a Green Goblin -- that's seemingly Harry Osborn, not the more traditional Norman, in the redesigned outfit in the trailer) and a blink-and-you'll-miss-him appearance from the Rhino, but there's a nod to two other familiar villains to be found, as well.

Skip to 1:14 in the trailer and you'll see a gentleman in a hat and trench coat walk through a room filled with things in cases and moody lighting. But look, for a second, not at the man, but what's inside the cases behind him. Yes, that's Doctor Octopus' cybernetic arms on the right, and on the left, a pair of wings that don't quite match the familiar Vulture outfit, but still: come on.

There have been rumors for some time that the third Amazing Spider-Man movie would feature the Sinister Six, with Sony helping them along with the occasional well-placed teaser. Just adding up the villains making actual appearances in the first two movie gives us four bad guys (Rhino, Green Goblin, Electro and the first movie's Lizard) -- but if you lay the groundwork for Doctor Octopus and the Vulture to appear, then you've reached the magic number.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2, 2014. We'll find out then whether or not we should expect odds of six-against-one in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 -- a movie that, fittingly, will be Sony's sixth feature film for the character.
