'Coast to Coast Comic Con' will turn the Seattle event into a national comic retailer virtual show for one day.

In 2017, comic book fans won't need to travel to Seattle to enjoy Emerald City Comicon; they'll just need to go as far as their local comic store.

The newly announced Coast to Coast Comic Con will live stream interviews, announcements and Q&A panels from ReedPOP's West Coast event on March 4 to participating comic stores across the country. Guests already scheduled to appear include DC Entertainment co-publishers Dan Didio and Jim Lee, as well as Marvel's Civil War II writer Brian Michael Bendis and writers Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick.

The new daylong event is a reinvention of the "In Store Convention Kickoff" event, which had live streamed interviews with comic book creators to stores in 2014 and 2015. Coast to Coast sees the ISCKO team partnering with ReedPOP for the first time. (Diamond Comic Distributors continues to work with ISCKO for promotion, as with the previous incarnation of the event.)

"We’re excited about our partnership with ReedPOP and the ability to broadcast live from Emerald City," ISCKO CEO Phil Boyle said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "As retailers know, a convention brings a lot of excitement to the community and we’re bringing some of that excitement into stores for a daylong event of announcements and panels."

Emerald City Comicon runs March 2-5 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. More details about the March 4 Coast to Coast Comic Con event will be released in the following months.
