'Fantastic Four' Heroes Get Military Introduction in New Teaser

Fantastic Four Trailer Still - H 2015
From tragedy comes opportunity, apparently.

With great power comes great potential — or, at least, that's what the military in the world of Fox's Fantastic Four seems to believe. A new viral teaser for the movie shares a presentation made by the fictional Department of Defense that proposes that perhaps the superpowered quartet could have their uses redefining modern warfare.

"As you all know, the incident at the Baxter Institute involving the quantum gate was a tragedy," begins the narrator in the video, which was shared on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. "However, from that tragedy comes opportunity."

What follows is a breakdown of the abilities of the "four surviving assets" — aka Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Sue Storm (Kate Mara), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) — and the possibilities they present in terms of "applied ops" in the field, despite being untrained civilians. Of course, that such applied ops just happen to include footage from the movie of the characters in action is just a coincidence. …

Directed by Josh Trank from a script by Simon Kinberg, Fantastic Four is due out Aug. 7, at which point everyone will see if the assets allow themselves to be used by the authorities or not. Watch the new clip below.
