Rick Famuyiwa has shared an update on the status of Warner Bros' big-screen take on The Flash, and in the process hinted that the scarlet speedster won't be fighting crime alone in his solo movie.

Famuyiwa tweeted an image of the latest draft of the movie's screenplay Monday, which has been revised by the Dope director from its earlier Seth Grahame-Smith draft, itself created from a treatment by The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Christopher Miller… but what caught fans' attention were what else was visible in the image:

The feet on top of the script belong to two Funko versions of heroes from the DC movie universe: the Flash, obviously, and… Cyborg, curiously enough.

A Flash/Cyborg pairing isn't entirely out of the blue — both are members of the Justice League in comics and movies, after all, and in the movie they're notably the two youngest members of the team — although they aren't traditionally characters paired together in comic book mythology, where Flash is more often found palling around with Green Lantern, and Cyborg with either Beast Boy of the Teen Titans or fellow Justice Leaguer Shazam.

Bringing Cyborg (Ray Fisher) in for a Flash cameo, however, follows the trend of cross-movie cameo appearances ahead of their time in the spotlight, as can be seen in the role played by Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman ahead of her own movie, or even the Batman and Flash appearances in Suicide Squad ahead of Justice League next year.

The Flash, which stars Ezra Miller in the title role with Kiersey Clemons co-starring as Iris West, is scheduled for a March 16, 2018 release.
