Free Comic Book Day 2019 Reveals 41 New Titles

The comic book store promotional event takes place in May.

Following the Tuesday reveal of the Gold Sponsor titles for next year’s Free Comic Book Day event, organizers have added 39 additional titles under the Silver Sponsor banner, with a further two issues being added as Educational Support releases.

Amongst the raft of Silver titles — full details of which can be found here — there are some standout releases that catch the attention. Fantagraphics’ contribution is Our Favorite Thing Is My Favorite Thing Is Monsters, which features an exclusive preview of Emil Ferris’ follow-up to the multiple award-winning graphic novel My Favorite Thing Is Monsters, alongside two additional strips by Ferris, including an autobiographical short called, “The Bite That Changed My Life!”

Elsewhere, Humanoids will release H1 Ignition, a one-shot by Mark Waid, Carla Speed McNeil, Philippe Briones and more that launches its new shared universe, Humanoids H1, and Rebellion/2000 AD will release an unexpected reprint anthology of humor comics almost entirely unseen in the U.S., under the banner Treasury of British Comics Presents: Funny Pages. A more familiar humor classic will return in Drawn & Quarterly’s Little Lulu in the World’s Best Comic Book, launching a hardcover reissue series of John Stanley’s beloved comic book based on the newspaper strip character.

Also of note is Dynamite Entertainment’s Vampirella No. 0 50th Anniversary, which launches the 50th anniversary celebrations of the cult character in an issue including work by creator Forrest J. Ackerman, Bruce Timm, Ty Templeton and Christopher Priest.
