Claire Foy is on board as hacker Lisbeth Salander and Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason is playing rule-breaking journalist Mikael Blomkvist. Sylvia Hoeks, who appeared in Blade Runner 2049, is also on the call sheet.
Sources say Stanfield will play a NSA security expert who is tracking Salander.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web is set to begin shooting later this month in Europe.
David Beaubaire is overseeing the movie for the studio. Amy Pascal and Elizabeth Cantillon are producing with Scott Rudin and Yellow Bird.
Stanfield played a key role in Get Out, appearing as the mysterious man who is married to a much older white woman. Among the actor's other feature credits are turns in Dope and Selma, and he stole scenes portraying Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton.
Stanfield is repped by CAA, Stark Management and Ginsburg Daniels.
