Gillian Anderson Pleads for 'Ghostbusters 3' Role
Gillian Anderson would like to go from tracking aliens to finding ghosts.
The X-Files alum took part in a Reddit AMA on Sunday, where she was asked whether she has any interest in the new all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Anderson didn't seem to be familiar with the upcoming Paul Feig-directed project but was enthusiastic about it.
"OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online," she wrote. "Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"
When someone offered to help drum up interest in the petition, Anderson responded: "MAKE IT HAPPEN!!"
Anderson, who has recently appeared on NBC's Hannibal and Crisis, was also asked whether any progress was being made on a third X-Files film. "Sorta kinda," she teased. "Keep your ears to the ground."
Anderson was doing the AMA to promote her new sci-fi novel, A Vision of Fire, which she co-wrote with best-selling author Jeff Rovin.
The new Ghostbusters film picked up steam last week when it was announced that Feig would be working on the script with his The Heat screenwriter Katie Dippold.
