HBO Max's 'Peacemaker' Casts Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad

James Gunn will will direct several episodes of his 'The Suicide Squad' spinoff.

HBO Max's Peacemaker is assembling its squad. The spinoff to James Gunn's Warner Brosl/DC movie The Suicide Squad has added Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad to the call sheet.

Brooks, known for her work on Orange Is the New Black, will star as Leota Adebayo, while Patrick, best known for playing the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is boarding the project as Auggie Smith. Holland, who appeared in the Gunn-produced Brightburn, will reprise her The Suicide Squad role of Emilia Harcourt, while Conrad, known for his work on EPIX's Perpetual Grace, LTD., joins as Vigilante/Adrian Chase.

Peacemaker stars John Cena, reprising his role from The Suicide Squad. He plays a man believes in peace at any cost — no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Steve Agee also stars as John Economos.

Gunn, whose The Suicide Squad is set for Aug. 6, 2021, wrote all eight episodes of the series, and is directing multiple episodes, including the first. He produces via his Troll Court Entertainment, alongside Peter Safran of The Safran Company and Warner Bros. Television. Production is due to begin in early 2021, before Gunn shifts his attention to Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
