Hear the End of The Final 'Hobbit' Movie Right Now

Billy Boyd's return to Middle-earth is now online
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

In the final movie of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Pippin (played by Billy Boyd) memorably sings a song called “The Edge of Night” while Faramir and his horsemen head off to retake Osgiliath from the orcs. For The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, audiences will get to hear Boyd sing again — but without a Pippin appearance, sadly.

Boyd’s new song, “The Last Goodbye,” will appear over the end credits of the movie. Boyd, who co-wrote the song with Hobbit producers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyensdescribes it as “a goodbye to all the fans who have been part of this amazing journey and to the whole world of [Hobbit creator J.R.R. Tolkien] as it has been told in the cinema for our generation.”

The song will also appear on the movie’s soundtrack album, released Dec. 9. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be released in theaters Dec. 17.
