The actor also gave an update on his 'Music Man' revival, which was postponed due to the pandemic.

And the friendly feud continues.

Hugh Jackman on Tuesday stopped by SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show to talk about his Emmy nominated performance in HBO’s Bad Education when Ryan Reynolds and his wife, actress Blake Lively, were brought up. The Marvel actors have been "enemies" (actually close friends) for years.

“To think of what she’s had to put up with," Jackman said of Lively, who recently celebrated a birthday. "Let’s just think COVID with Ryan. It’s amazing. I just hope more than anything that she is on her own with her friends just really enjoying her day.”

Asked what he might get Reynolds for his birthday since the Deadpool actor and Wolverine actor are both October babies, Jackman of course had something mean-spirited and gross in mind.

"The first thing that came to mind was a game we used to play as kids, did you ever play that game, we used to call it Ring and Run?" Jackman began. "Where you go knock on someone’s door and run away. So of course my older brother took it to the next level and when you came to open the door there was a package that was on fire. The package was filled with various amounts of dog poo from the neighborhood. So you would stamp it out. That’s the first thing that came to mind."

Jackman also gave an update on his upcoming Broadway revival of Music Man, which was supposed to open this year, but postponed due to the pandemic.

"We are going to rehearse in February, open in May and yeah, I’ve been doing quite a lot of stuff on my own," Jackman, who will play Harold Hill, said. "I’m lucky I had enough floor space and good broadband so that Warren Carlyle my choreographer could be watching me, so I sort of know it already which is an odd thing to say eight months before you start rehearsals but we’ll be ready."
