The horror film, about a killer ice cream man, opens Aug. 18.

Too many sweets can lead to health issues, but in this case — ice cream truly can be deadly.

In a new trailer for The Ice Cream Truck, Mary (Deanna Russo) moves back to her hometown and soon gets a bad vibe from the neighborhood ice cream man. And her worries are with good reason — he's got murder on his mind.

In addition to the trailer, Heat Vision also has the exclusive look at the new poster for the film, which will be in select theaters and available on VOD Aug. 18.

Writer-director Megan Freels Johnston, the granddaughter of crime writer Elmore Leonard, is behind the project.

The Ice Cream Truck, from Uncork'd Entertainment, also stars John Redlinger, Emil Johnsen, Hilary Barraford, Jeff Daniel Phillips and Lisa Ann Walter.
