"Isn't 007 supposed to handsome? Glad you think I've got a shot!"

Ever since Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal's hacked email inbox recently showed a January 2014 message that read "Idris should be the next bond," a frenzy of 007 speculation has greeted the Luther actor.

In a knowing response to the presumably numerous Twitter queries, the actor wrote a breezy note on Saturday.

The response also arrived after widely circulated quotes from host Rush Limbaugh, who dismissed the idea of a James Bond that wasn't "white and Scottish" during his Dec. 23 radio show.

Meanwhile, Spectre, the latest entry in the James Bond series starring Daniel Craig, is gearing up for a Nov. 6, 2015 release date stateside.

The project has also been victim to the Sony Pictures Entertainment cyberattack, with producers acknowledging on Dec. 13 that the script had been stolen as part of the hack.
