IFC Midnight has acquired I Am Not a Serial Killer for North and Latin America distribution.

Billy O’Brien directed and co-wrote the film with Christopher Hyde from a novel by Dan Wells.

Max Records and Christopher Lloyd star in the genre film, which follows a troubled teenager who needs to keep his own homicidal tendencies at bay while attempting to hunt and destroy a supernatural force.

I Am Not a Serial Killer made its world premiere at this year's SXSW film festival.

Nick Ryan, James Harris and Mark Lane produced the film, with Wayne Marc Godfrey, Robert Jones, James Atherton, Jan Pace, John McDonnell, Rory Gilmartin, O'Brien, Avril Daly, Ruairi Robinson, Robbie Ryan, Bertrand Faivre, Ruth Kenley-Letts and Afolabi Kuti all acting as executive producers.

“Billy O’Brien has done a stunning job of bringing Dan Wells’ book to the screen with an endlessly engaging film suffused with wry humor, finely wrought performances and a moody, haunting atmosphere,” IFC Midnight said Tuesday in a statement.

The deal was negotiated by the Independent Film Company on behalf of the filmmakers.
