'It' Actor Owen Teague Joins Gary Oldman in Supernatural Thriller 'Mary' (Exclusive)
Owen Teague, hot off his flaming appearance in the box office horror hit It, is joining Gary Oldman in Mary, the supernatural thriller from Tucker Tooley Entertainment and Entertainment One.
Michael Goi, the cinematographer and director for American Horror Story and Salem, will direct the feature.
Mary centers on a struggling family that buys an old ship at auction with the high hopes of starting a charter business, only to discover its horrifying secrets on the isolated open waters.
Oldman is playing the father who captains the doomed boat. Teague will play the boat’s second-in-command, a Florida surf punk that Oldman has taken under his wing.
Anthony Jaswinski, who wrote the hit woman-vs.-shark thriller The Shallows, penned the script.
Tucker Tooley Entertainment and eOne are co-financing and producing Mary, which is scheduled to begin production later this month in Alabama.
Tucker Tooley, Scott Lambert and Alexandra Milchan as well as Scott Lumpkin are producing. Greg Renker and Jason Barhydt are executive producing.
Teague may be best known for his breakout role as the son of the character played by Ben Mendelsohn in the acclaimed Netflix show Bloodline. He is on the big screen in It, playing the juicy role of Patrick Hockstetter, a fire-loving bully in New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King's novel. The movie has made over $247 million worldwide in just one week.
He recently wrapped a starring role in MGM’s Every Day and will next be seen in a key role in the season four premiere episode of Black Mirror, directed by Jodie Foster.
He is repped by APA, Management 360, Brevard Talent Group and Myman Greenspan.
