Jason Statham on Starring in Marvel Films: "Anybody Can Do It" — Even "My Grandma" (Video)

Don't expect to see Jason Statham tussling on screen with the Avengers anytime soon.
The Spy star told Italian website I 400 Calci that starring in a superhero film, specifically one from the Marvel universe, doesn't interest him, in part because he doesn't appreciate the reliance on green screen and visual effects.

"I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they'll put her on a green screen, and they'll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action," Statham replied. "Anybody can do it."
The Furious 7 actor said that these types of projects don't feel "authentic" to him. "I'm inspired by old, real-star [actors] — guys that can really do their thing."
This follows Statham's comments to the Guardian recently about the James Bond franchise, saying he would take the series in a "very, very different direction" if he played the iconic spy character.
Statham's remarks about Marvel can be seen in the video below.
