Jay Roach in Talks to Rewrite, Possibly Direct Alien Drama 'Intelligent Life'
Jay Roach is in negotiations to rewrite and possibly direct Intelligent Life, Amblin Entertainment’s sci-fi project.
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and his collaborator Derek Connolly wrote the initial script, which centers on a United Nations employee who monitors outer space and makes contact with a beautiful woman who may be an alien.

Ava DuVernay was attached to direct but left in May when her focus diverted to Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time. Lupita Nyong'o was previously attached to star in Intelligent Life but is no longer involved.
Frank Marshall, Peter Saraf and Trevorrow are producing. Connolly and Marc Turtletaub will exec produce.
Roach, who is best known for directing the Austin Powers and Meet the Parents movies, will do the rewrite with Larry Stuckey.
Roach has reinvented himself in recent years by tackling more topical fare such as politics with HBO’s award-winning movie Game Change and the Hollywood Blacklist with 2015’s Trumbo.
