Jennifer Lopez, Armie Hammer to Star in Lionsgate Action Comedy 'Shotgun Wedding'
Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer are set to star in Lionsgate’s action-comedy Shotgun Wedding from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore.
The movie, which will be presented to buyers at AFM and is looking to go into production early next year, was written by New Girl creator Liz Meriwether and Mark Hammer.
Heat Vision breakdown
Shotgun Wedding will follow Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer) as they gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage.
Mandeville’s Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman will produce with Lopez and her Nuyorican Productions’ Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Ryan Reynolds, who was previously attached to star in the movie, is also executive producing along with George Dewey.
Alex Young is overseeing the production and executive producing for Mandeville along with Courtney Baxter for Nuyorican. James Myers and Scott O’Brien are overseeing the production for Lionsgate.
Lopez — repped by CAA, the Medina Company and Hirsch Wallerstein — will next be seen in Universal comedy Marry Me, starring opposite Owen Wilson.
Hammer, repped by WME and Sloane Offer, can currently be seen in Netflix's Rebecca adaptation.
