'Jumanji' Teaser Offers Action, Excitement, But Little Plot

"The Game Has Changed," promises the teaser for tomorrow's full trailer reveal.

The new teaser for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle promises that the game has changed — but with only seconds' worth of footage ahead of Thursday's full trailer reveal, all that's really obvious is that, this time around, there's going to be more action.

Indeed, beyond the main cast — Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillen and Jack Black — everything else in the 20-second teaser is a vague hint of things to come: Why is the Jumanji game buried on a beach? What's with the cat statue rising from a mountain? Why is a motorcycle gang jumping over hills with swords on their backs? Is that Kevin Hart on an elephant? What is even going on?

Of course, just by provoking that last response, it's a sign that the blink-and-you-miss-it tease works. After watching the teaser, who isn't at least curious to see the first trailer for the movie when it's released?

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle will hit theaters Dec. 20.
