After the War Boys, it's time for the Dream Voyager.

Dark Horse Comics has announced plans to publish Dream Gang, a new project from writer and artist Brendan McCarthy, best known to mainstream audiences as one of the writers and concept artists for last year's Mad Max: Fury Road, collecting and updating material previously released as part of the company's Dark Horse Presents anthology series.

McCarthy describes Dream Gang as "the story of a young man who lives a dreary, gray life" who "has a vivid dream that connects him to a group of naturally gifted psychic voyagers known as the Dream Gang." Together with the Dream Gang, he has to find a bomb implanted into one of his memories.

In addition to his work on Fury Road, McCarthy has worked on a number of movies and TV projects including Lost In Space, The Borrowers and Coneheads, in addition to having a comic book career that stretches back to the late 1970s including work on Judge Dredd, Spider-Man and DC Entertainment's Doom Patrol and Shade the Changing Man.

Dream Gang will be released July 27.
