Mark Hamill Is Not Done Playing Luke Skywalker
There is another Skywalker...role.
Mark Hamill is playing Luke Skywalker once more for a new installment of the animated series of shorts Star Wars: Forces of Destiny.
The actor, who just recently reassumed the iconic role in December's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, voices a young Luke while he is still being trained by Yoda on Dagobah during the time period of The Empire Strikes Back. The title of the second-season short is "The Path Ahead."
"Struggling with his Jedi training, Luke is grateful for master Yoda’s offer to join him on a sojourn through the trees and swamps of Dagobah, until he learns that Yoda will be riding in his backpack! Minding Yoda, Luke learns to trust what he feels instead of what he thinks he sees," reads the description of the episode.
It is unclear if Hamill will appear as Luke Skywalker in the upcoming Episode IX feature, recently joking with ABC News that it was up to returning director J.J. Abrams.
Other castmembers from the live-action films lending their voice to Star Wars: Forces of Destiny episodes include Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, John Boyega and Lupita Nyong’o.
The new season of the series is on Disney's YouTube channel.
