Mark Hamill Hopes Luke Skywalker Got Teleported to Nudist Colony in 'Last Jedi' Finale

"I refuse to believe that he's gone," the actor says of his iconic character.

Don't fret Star Wars fans, Luke Skywalker is still around in some form, Mark Hamill believes.

Speaking with the BBC on Thursday night at the Oscar Wilde Awards where he was being honored, the sci-fi legend took some time to speculate about what may have happened to his beloved character at the end of the latest installment of the space adventure franchise.

"I refuse to believe that he's gone," Hamill told the BBC of The Last Jedi's finale. "My theory is he just teleported to somewhere else and left his robe behind. He teleported to a nudist colony, that's what I'm hoping."

Luke's physical form disappeared during the final moments of the Rian Johnson film following an intense lightsaber battle (although Luke just dodged) with Kylo Ren

Last Jedi is nominated for four awards at Sunday's 90th Academy Awards, including best original score of which the actor told the BBC, "It's nice but that's not why you do it — you do it for the passion and that's why you should do it, not because you think it's going to win lots of awards."

Speaking of the Oscars, Hamill will be a presenter Sunday, although he said it is more fun to watch from home.

"Now I have to put on a tuxedo and be part of it because I'm presenting. Believe me, as big an honor as it is to be part of it, it's much more fun to be watching it at home," Hamill told the BBC.
