New playset for the 'Disney Infinity' video game will also introduce Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Vision as playable characters.

No matter the medium, Marvel's superheroes just can't seem to get along.

Not content with in-fighting in May's Captain America: Civil War movie and this summer's Civil War II comic book series, Earth's Mightiest Heroes will also be turning on each other in Marvel Battlegrounds, a new addition to the multi-franchise video game Disney Infinity.

The new playset, announced during Tuesday's inaugural Disney Infinity Next online event, features a storyline created in partnership between Disney Interactive and Marvel that will allow four users to play simultaneously choosing from a cast of 25 playable characters that will include newcomers Black Panther, the Vision and Ant-Man, each in a version of their big screen Civil War costumes.

Also making his debut as a stand-alone character in the playset will be a version of Spider-Man wearing his fan-favorite black costume. The design had previously been available as a PlayStation Vita-exclusive, but Disney Interactive reported that fan demand has led to its release as an individual figure.

Locations in the new playset will include a number of places familiar to movie audiences, including Thor's Asgard, the Guardians of the Galaxy's Knowhere and the Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda. The movie connection doesn't stop there — as the trailer for the playset shows, Battlegrounds allows players to pit Iron Man against Captain America, in time for the movie's May 5 release.

Marvel Battlegrounds will be the first of four new playsets to be released for Disney Infinity in 2016, according to Disney Interactive, with a new Star Wars set to debut at some point during the year. Release dates have yet to be announced.
