'Hunt for Wolverine' Comic to Reveal How Logan Returned From the Dead
Marvel Entertainment brought Logan back from the dead in last year’s Marvel Legacy No. 1, but the mystery of just how he returned from the afterlife will be revealed this summer, and in a suitably oblique manner.
The story begins in April’s The Hunt for Wolverine No. 1, written by Charles Soule — who killed the character off in 2014’s Death of Wolverine miniseries — with art by Civil War II’s David Marquez. The tale continues in May across The Adamantium Agenda, Claws of the Killer, Mystery in Madripoor and Weapon Lost, each series intended to address a different plot thread and genre.
It’s unclear, as yet, whether or not each of the four stories will be one-off issues or miniseries; Marvel has not responded to a request for clarification.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how fans start to put the pieces together,” Soule said in a statement from the publisher. “There's a big payoff coming down the road, and all the interlocking parts of The Hunt of Wolverine build to it. The more you read, the more clues you get.”
At the same time as The Hunt for Wolverine, the character will be part of the Infinity Countdown storyline taking part in an entirely separate comic book series, which might give fans an idea of what kind of ‘big payoff” is waiting at the end of The Hunt for Wolverine — and also tease that Wolverine’s greatest enemy now that he’s returned from death might be overexposure.
The Hunt for Wolverine No. 1 will be available digitally and in comic book stores on April 25.
