New 'Huntsman: Winter's War' Trailer Reveals Origin of Ice Queen

Thanks to a well-placed narrator, the second trailer for The Huntsman: Winter's War feels like a fairy tale as it re-introduces the main players in the prequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman and tells the secret origin of Emily Blunt's Ice Queen.

The trailer's narration opens by explicitly stating that the new movie takes place prior to the Kirsten Stewart vehicle that launched the franchise, stating, "If it's Snow White's tale you're looking for, discover the story that came before."

Of course, the troublemaker in the second installment is the same as the first: Charlize Theron's Evil Queen, driven to new heights of jealousy after the magic mirror reveals that she won't always be the fairest in the land.

The queen's actions have consequences, however, including the creation of an army that includes the heroes of the piece — Chris Hemsworth's Eric, the eponymous Huntsman and Jessica Chastain's Sara — and the beginning of the war that gives the movie its title. Helping to try and keep the peace despite everything are actors Nick Frost, Rob Brydon and Sam Claflin.

Directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan from a script by Craig Mazin and Evan Spilotopoulos, The Huntsman: Winter's War will arrive in theaters April 22.
