New York Police Department Enlists Batman to Help With Frightening Clowns
One police department in New York decided it was time to cut out the middleman and just deal with the scary clown issue head-on.
Fairport police recently posted on Facebook that the department enlisted the help of Batman to combat the "crazy clown epidemic."
The post is done tongue-in-cheek, but still, they look like they mean business in a photo posted to the department's Facebook page.
"The Fairport Police have received a lead in the Crazy Clown epidemic that has been gripping the nation," the department wrote. "We have received information that these clowns are the henchmen of ... you guessed it ... the Joker. Since verifying this new information, the Fairport Police Department have recruited the assistance of America's Favorite Caped Crusader, BATMAN! Batman has been given a Fairport Police Uniform and Police Car to be on patrol in the Fairport area on alert for any suspicious activity. Please call 911 if you observe anything suspicious and we will signal Batman from atop the Village Hall where the blue light shines. Have a safe and Happy Halloween from the members of the Fairport Police Department."
It is unclear how the police commissioner (please, oh please, let him be named Gordon) feels about the move.
And this not the first time Batman has had to get involved with people dressing like clowns to make others uncomfortable.
Earlier this month, someone in Cumbria, which is in northwest England, was chasing off clowns in the hopes of making children feel safe, The Telegraph reported.
A photo of that Batman in action and a video surfaced of the British Caped Crusader telling kids it's safe.
A group calling itself Cumbria Superheroes was behind that effort.
