The Magnificent Seven remake is losing one villain and adding another.

Peter Sarsgaard is in final negotiations to join MGM's remake of the classic western, while Jason Momoa will no longer play a different villain. The cast currently includes Chris Pratt, Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Matt Bomer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-hun LeeWagner Moura and Haley Bennett.

Antoine Fuqua will direct the update of the 1960 film, which centers on a disparate group of seven gunslingers who are hired by a woman (Bennett) to defend her town from bandits led by a robber baron.

Sarsgaard will play the robber baron, Bogue. Momoa would have played one of the crooks.

John Lee Hancock and True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto wrote the script. Roger Birnbaum and Todd Black are producing with Walter Mirisch and Fuqua executive producing.

Momoa will play Aquaman in Warner Bros.' DC Comics films starting with next year's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and also stars on Sundance's The Red Road. The Game of Thrones alum is repped by APA, Link and Edelstein Laird.
