'Prometheus' Images, Video Released Teasing Trailer (Video)
What a week for trailers. First, the dark, epic trailer for Christopher Nolan’s final installment in his Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, premiered. Then, Peter Jackson’s fantastic adventure, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, debuted its first trailer on Tuesday.
And on Thursday, the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus will premiere. All week, 20th Century Fox has been teasing the trailer with …trailers for the trailer.
Heat Vision breakdown
The final of the three teasers for the trailer premiered today. Watch it below.
Not much is known about the film, which has been veiled in secrecy. So what does Scottt say it’s about?
“It’s all about everything,” he says in the third pre-trailer. “I come from the All About Everything School.”
He promises “some good thinking, some great narrative, good dialogue and therefore terrific actors.” The actors he speaks of include Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba and the Swedish version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace.
What is known about the plot is that is follows a team of explorers who discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth. They embark on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe where they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
A recently released photo for the film, which is set for a June 2012 release, shows Fassbender in his suit, holding a flashlight and staring at something.
Scott spoke about the film via a live feed from Iceland at Comic-Con back in July. While he said it’s not a direct prequel to Alien, he did – as vaguely as possible -- say it was somehow related.
Hopefully, when the trailer premieres tomorrow, more will be revealed about the project that brought Scott back to science fiction.
