'(Re)Assignment': Comic That Inspired Michelle Rodriguez Thriller Is Getting a U.S. Release
The comic book that inspired an upcoming Michelle Rodriguez-Sigourney Weaver crime thriller will finally reach the U.S. early next year, with Titan Comics announcing that it will release Walter Hill's (Re)Assignment under its Hard Case Crime imprint next January.
The title, created by Hill with co-writer Alexis Nolent — who writes comics under the pseudonym Matz — and artist Jef, sees hitman Frank Kitchen targeted for revenge by the surgeon sibling of one of his victims, turning him from a hitman into a hitwoman. (Weaver plays the surgeon in the movie version, with Rodriguez playing Frank.)

The Hard Case Crime release will be the first time that the (Re)Assignment comic book has received an English language release; the title had previously been released under the name Body and Soul by French publisher Éditions Rue de Sèvres.
The movie adaptation of the title debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, with The Hollywood Reporter's review describing it as "a deliciously transgressive and smart classic B movie."
"I’m looking forward to working with Titan Comics on (Re)Assignment," Hill said in a statement, adding that he "believe[s] we’re already off to a fine start with [already released Hard Case title] Triggerman. I’m certainly pleased the story will be coming to an English speaking audience.”
