Rian Johnson Murder Mystery 'Knives Out' Gets 2019 Release Date

Lionsgate has picked up Rian Johnson's star-studded murder mystery Knives Out, setting it for a Thanksgiving 2019 release.

Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette and Ana de Armas star in the movie, which is currently filming. Craig will topline as a detective tasked with solving a modern-day whodunit murder mystery. 

MRC, the company behind such films as Baby Driver and the recently released Mortal Engines, is producing and financing Knives Out. Johnson wrote the script and is directing the movie as well as producing with Ram Bergman. MRC is owned by Valence Media, which is also the parent company of The Hollywood Reporter.

Knives Out is joining Lionsgate's 2019 slate that also includes Hellboy and John Wick: Chapter 3.
