Meet Lego's New 'Star Wars' Toys for 'Rogue One'
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story doesn’t hit theatres until Dec. 16, but the marketing push begins now.
And that’s good news for brick buffs as Lego has unveiled its pretty wide array of Rogue One toy products, which will hit stores Sept. 30.
Among the highlights:
Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle:
Krennic is the villain played by Ben Mendelsohn. As Lego says: “Put him into the pilot seat, open out the thick-armor plating and seat the Death Troopers. Lower the ramp and check the blasters are secured, then arm the spring-loaded shooters and seal the hull for takeoff. Raise the landing skids, lower the wings for flight mode and set off on another dangerous mission!”
This is the most expensive item on the shopping list, coming in at $199.99. It is 863 pieces.
Next, Rebel U-Wing Fighter (659 pieces) and the TIE Striker (543 pieces) come in at $99.99 and $89.99, respectively. Both are variations of the classic, and tried and true, X-Wing and TIE Fighters models.

Lego describes the Striker as the "Empire’s atmospheric patrol fighter": "Open the minifigure cockpit from the top or front and put in the TIE Pilot. Help the Imperial ground crew member put supplies in the rear hold and arm the spring-loaded shooters. Then adjust the huge wings and launch into the skies in search of rebels!"
Other products are the AT-ST Walker and the Imperial Assault Hovertank.

Lego also has a line of buildable figures, comprising the characters Jyn Erso (played in the movie by Felicity Jones), the sure-to-be-fan-favorite robot K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk), and the Imperial Death Trooper. The figures will stand nine to 11 inches tall when built and cost $29.99.

Star Wars has had its licensing partnership with Lego since 1999 when it became the first licensed product in the company’s history. It’s been one of the key lines that helped usher in the Lego revival.
Lego did not comment on when or if there will be more Rogue One sets released.
