'Rogue One' International Trailer Borrows Moment from 'The Expendables'

Sylvester Stallone finally makes it into the 'Star Wars' univerese.

Rogue One: A Star Wars may be billed as a gritty war drama, but there are bound to be moments of levity — and the new international trailer shows that in an unexpected way.

Coming just one day after a different international trailer, this one features some of the chemistry between Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus  (Jiang Wen). Chirrut is fighting off Imperial forces, when Malbus comes to his rescue — firing at them and just barely missing his friend.

"You almost shot me," Chirrut says, to which Malbus responds, "You're welcome."

Movie fans may recall a similar scene was highlighted in the trailer for 2010's The Expendables, in which Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) was equally shocked that  Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) pulled a similar stunt. (See the 2:22 minute mark below). "Are you crazy? you could have killed me," shouts Christmas, to which Ross shotus, "You're welcome!"

Rogue One is from director Gareth Edwards and hits theaters Dec. 16.
