Salma Hayek Blasts Her Way Into 2015 in 'Everly' Trailer

The 'Frida' actress stars in the high-concept revenge flick

Wondering what surprises 2015 will bring to theaters? Here's a good sign: an action movie featuring Salma Hayek as a prostitute pushed to the edge (and beyond) to save her family. Yes, really.

The first international trailer for Joe Lynch's Everly (spotted by The Playlist) shows Hayek as you've never seen her before, forced — as the official synopsis for the movie puts it — "to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter."

The entire movie, which also features Togo Igawa and Masashi Fujimoto, takes place entirely in one apartment, making this a high-concept revenge flick with ultra violence and a career reinvention on behalf of the Grown Ups 2 (and, to be fair, Desperado) star. If this is what lies ahead over the next 12 months, bring it on.

Everly will be distributed in the U.S. by Radius but currently has no release date.
