Sam Raimi in Talks to Direct Bermuda Triangle Movie for Skydance (Exclusive)

Sam Raimi is headed into the Bermuda Triangle.
The director, best known for his Spider-Man and Evil Dead movies, is boarding the mystery thriller project set up at Skydance Productions.
Heat Vision breakdown
Skydance has one of three Bermuda Triangle projects in development, with Universal and Warner Bros. also developing their own tales about the infamous patch of the Caribbean where planes and ships have inexplicably gone missing.
In such a competitive environment, all the companies are keeping their own takes super-secret for fear of letting out who or what is behind the disappearances. Even getting the directing gig was controlled: Prospective filmmakers had to go to Skydance's offices just to read the script.
Plot details for this project are, of course, being kept submerged, but it is known that Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard, the co-writers on The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, penned the script. A previous version was written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the duo responsible for 2009's Friday the 13th reboot.
Raimi, who last directed Oz the Great and Powerful for Disney, is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson.
