Warner Bros. is carving out a date for The Six Billion Dollar Man.

The Mark Wahlberg tentpole will open May 31, 2019, the studio announced Friday. The film is expected to star Wahlberg as Steve Austin, a man who is saved by cutting-edge technology that turns him half-machine following a horrible accident. Damian Szifron will direct. The Hollywood Reporter reported in December that Warner Bros. was looking to buy the adaptation of the 1970s TV series The Six Million Dollar Man from The Weinstein Co. So far, the only other title set for that date is an untitled Blumhouse film from Universal.

Warner Bros. also dated a number of other films, including the YA adaptation The Sun Is Also a Star, which is being adapted by Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver and is to star Yara Shahidi. The film will open May 17, 2019, the same date Lionsgate's John Wick: Chapter 3 is slated.

The mob feature The Kitchen will open Sept. 20, 2019. It is based on the Vertigo comic of the same name and will be directed by Straight Outta Compton screenwriter Andrea Berloff and will star Tiffany Haddish. Sony's The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Universal's Little are also set for that date.

In addition, New Line set two untitled horror films for April 19, 2019 (the same day as Paramount's Stephen King adaptation Pet Sematary), and July 3, 2019. The studio also removed an untitled Warner Bros. event film from Sept. 27, 2019.
