A month ahead of the aliens' big-screen debut, they'll take over the covers for 22 comics.

The Skrulls aren’t just invading the Marvel Cinematic Universe in next year’s Captain Marvel movie; they’ll also be taking over the covers for a number of different Marvel comic books, with the publisher announcing special variant covers spotlighting the shapeshifting aliens.

Twenty two different issues throughout February will have special variant covers featuring the aliens, ahead of their cinematic debut in March’s Captain Marvel, with each cover featuring either a version of the title character replaced by a Skrull, or else the title character in conflict with Skrulls. (In some cases, like Immortal Hulk No. 13 by Ed McGuinness, it’ll be both; the Hulk is fighting a Skrull Spider-Man on that cover.)

The special covers will appear on February issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Black Panther, Captain America, Conan the Barbarian, Daredevil, Deadpool, Fantastic Four, Hulkverines, Immortal Hulk, Love Romances, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider, The Gunhawks, Thor, Tony Stark: Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men, Uncanny X-Men: Winter’s End, Venom, Wolverine: Infinity Watch, X-23, X-Force and Ziggy Pig/Silly Seal Comics.

The variant cover program heralds a new project announced this weekend on Twitter: Meet the Skrulls, by Robbie Thompson and Niko Henrichon, with cover by Marcos Martin. No information about the title, beyond its title, creative team and a March release was revealed. More information about Meet the Skrulls is expected shortly.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios will release Captain Marvel in theaters March 8.
