Legendary Acquires Martin Helgeland's Dragon-Themed Script 'Slayer'

Legendary Pictures is going dragon hunting: the production company has picked up a modern-day fantasy spec script called Slayer.
The script is written by Martin Helgeland, the son of Brian Helgeland, a veteran scribe whose credits range from L.A. Confidential to Man on Fire. The younger Helgeland is a student at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles and this is his first script.
Heat Vision breakdown
Slayer is described as a modern-day story about a young doctor whose estranged father dies and he finds out the old man was a dragon and creature slayer. The doctor must become a slayer too.
Alex Garcia and Alex Hedlund are overseeing for Legendary.
Martin Helgeland is repped by WME.
