Tour the Planets of 'Star Wars Battlefront'
Ahead of the launch of Star Wars Battlefront, EA has launched a new website letting fans explore the worlds featured in the missions, as well as learn more about the making of the game itself.
The four planets featured are familiar to fans of the movies — with the arguable exception of one. Alongside Tatooine (Luke Skywalker's home in the original movie), Hoth (The Empire Strikes Back's ice planet) and Endor (the forest planet orbited by the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi), the site spotlights the planet of Sullust, a name unfamiliar to all but the hardcore Star Wars fan — it's the home planet of Nien Nunb, Lando Calrissian's copilot in Return of the Jedi, and the setting for an assault on Imperial territory by Rebel forces.
"Exploring" each planet means watching videos of gameplay footage, with periodical stops that allow users to click on elements linking to information about weapons, characters or vehicles onscreen, as well as viewing videos showing how the game was made.
To announce the launch of the site, EA released a trailer titled "The Planets of Star Wars Battlefront, offering a quick glimpse of each world, all of which seem just a little bit more beautiful devoid of X-Wings, AT-ATs and unmitigated carnage.
Star Wars Battlefront is released Nov.17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
