Why Domhnall Gleeson First Watched the 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Trailer Without Sound

The General Hux actor saw it inside a crowded bar: "I couldn't be like, 'Hey, keep it down. I'm trying to watch this! I might be in this — oh, no, I'm not.'"

If you watched the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer when it was released on Monday night, you probably had a better viewing than Domhnall Gleeson did.

The actor, who joined the franchise in 2015's The Force Awakens as General Hux of the First Order, initially had to see the trailer with the sound off since he was at a crowded bar.

"There was a band on, and I couldn't be like, 'Hey, keep it down. I'm trying to watch this! I might be in this — oh, no, I'm not,'" he told The Hollywood Reporter with a laugh after a screening of his latest movie, Goodbye Christopher Robin, on Wednesday. "I couldn't do that!"

Of course, once he got home, he watched the trailer on his computer — this time, with sound. "I thought it was amazingly cool," he said, even though his character wasn't included in it (like many others). "I can't wait to see the film."

So what was his favorite moment of the brief preview? "I liked seeing Rey and Luke together."

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.
